VISUAL EFFECTS FOR AMERICAN HORROR STORY

We partnered with MakeMake to create vfx shots for the popular TV Show.
VFX SHOTS | DESGIN & ANIMATION
We animated a virus that grows by invading the surrounding cells seen through a microscope. We created 3 CGI shots that showcase the progression of one initial cell invading a healthy one to a rapid multiplication of hundreds of these cells.
DESIGN | UI
We created a 2D design of the UI of the microscope that shows basic information and gives a sense of realism to the microscope POV.
DESIGN | PROCESS
At the design stage we did initial explorations of looks and color. We originally started with a dark red color palette that matched the blood sample which further evolved to a more of a retro x-ray look and feel.
ANIMATION | PROCESS
We did lots of R+D of how these cells are going to behave using mograph in Cinema 4D. We explored behaviors of the background cells and animated the hero cells manually using Keyframes and X-Particles.
FINAL LOOK | PROCESS
In the compositing stage we merged the hero cell with hundreds of background animated cells which combined together transports the viewer to a microscopic alive environment.
